Commission’s president Ursula von der Leyen replied on the 28th July 2021 to the letter on the expectations towards the upcoming Sustainable Corporate Governance legislative initiative, by the presidents of EPP, S&D, Renew, GreensEFA and the Left political groups.

Von der Leyen emphasizes the need of ensuring consistency and coherence and avoiding duplication in the work towards putting in place a sustainable framework for economic operators, while confirming that the initiative will be adopted in the course of 2021.
