Access to Remedy for victims of human rights abuses: Role of the EU

The European Parliament’s working group held a discussion on the Access to Remedy for victims of human rights abuses. The aim of the event was to discuss what measures the EU should put in place, and how it can best ensure that an effective access to remedy for victims becomes a reality.

This topic is also closely linked with due diligence requirements for companies, and this was covered in the latter part of the event.

Professor Anita Ramasastry, who is chairing the UN working group on Business and Human Rights, gave a keynote speech outlining the recent developments globally.
